Okay, okay… don’t judge me. I’ve been a horrible, horrible blogger. I repent, and I think I’m going to get a lot better…. You see… I’ve just had this great, wonderful news that I absolutely could not blog without sharing. I’ve wanted to scream it from the rooftops for 3 months now!!
It’s TRUE! Nick and I are going to have a baby! We could not be more excited about this! We had been praying a lot about how we should start our family, adoption or biological kids… and then we found out that we’re pregnant! I took the test early on a friday morning and immediately woke Nick up telling him I had one more birthday gift for him. (it was the day after his 25th birthday) I had frantically run to the basement and wrapped up these sweet little moccasins that I had found at a garage sale months before. They were too cute to pass up!
He was a little confused at first, but caught on and was ecstatic. We decided to wait a bit to tell everyone, but we just HAD to tell our parents & siblings as soon as we could. I went to Target and bought little bibs that read “I love my grandma” and “I love my grandpa” as well as Aunt and Uncle gear. We ended up surprising everyone that evening with the gifts. It was JUST THE BEST. Lots of screaming and laughing and crying and hugging. Needless to say, our parents are absolutely elated and Kate and Jon cannot wait to have a little niece or nephew. It was such a joy to celebrate with everyone. We are thrilled to death and often talk and dream about this little one growing in me.
I am 16 weeks pregnant now (4 months)… so the little peanut is about the size of an avocado this week and the heartbeat is strong and fast. In the next few weeks, it will double in size and weight! It’s truly a miracle how fast all of this happens! Unfortunately, while growing like crazy, the baby has been making me feel pretty yucky for the past few months… nauseous, cranky, achy and so very sleepy… but since the second trimester kicked in at 13 weeks, my energy has somewhat returned and I’m feeling much better. We are going to find out if it’s a boy or girl the week after Thanksgiving. We’re excited to be able to bond with our baby by knowing what gender it is… and plan well!
We feel so honored to be a part of this!
ALSO! I am happy to announce that we got iphones, and the ONLY reason this is relevant is because I will be posting MORE PICTURES of our everyday life thanks to the lovely iphone camera and Instagram… so hopefully I’ll become a better blogger!
